Bio
Ever wondered what it would sound like if Foals and Glass Animals had a son who grew up in Eastern Europe and got up to making music? Probably not, but now there’s an answer.
POVOLI is an independent Ukrainian artist and producer making atmospheric, introspective indie pop filled with tension and depth. Drawing on textured guitars, layered vocals, and ambient synths, his sound feels polished yet vulnerable.
His name, POVOLI (поволі), is a Ukrainian word that expresses mindful slowness and emotional patience – a belief that wherever you are is exactly where you need to be. It’s a philosophy woven into every detail of his approach to his art.
POVOLI writes, records, and produces all his music solo. His debut EP, I. PO, is currently being released as a series of singles. It’s the first entry in a trilogy of releases (followed by II. VO and III. LI) planned over the coming years. Together, the three titles form the word POVOLI, reinforcing the notion of doing things slowly and pursuing one’s goals with a long-term vision, focusing on the journey itself rather than the destination.
